“A trade forum that promotes regionalism by rethinking traditional commercial arrangements and proposing new relationships among regional value chains”

The AU’s Agenda 2063 that birthed the AfCFTA excites a myriad of strategic initiatives to promote industrialization in Africa. Among several propositions to drive the ambitions set for the AfCFTA, the Africa World Trade Network (AWTN) has designed a platform to purposely drive sectoral discussions, initiative and investments to promote Africa’s industrialization drive.

The Industrialize Africa Forum (IAF) , a trademark of AWTN, is to serve as a trade forum and exhibition platform that speaks to the exigencies of the AfCFTA. The IAF TM is a lead promotor of investment and partnerships that addresses critical developmental needs, research and technological innovations, and businesses to support industrial growth and prosperity across Africa.

Main Objectives

Support AfCFTAs overall goal of increasing Africa’ trade competitiveness
Provide companies with a platform for trade and investment promotions by creating a marketplace for deciders that ensure cross-sectorial and value chain participation
Continuously re-examine sectorial value chains and bring on board key actors within the African Continent and beyond, to review and re-engineer the fulcrum of creating shared prosperity within sectorial value chains
Contribute to the reduction of overall cost of goods by promoting economies of scale and helping entrepreneurs and enterprises reach a larger market.
Promote Africa’s departure from colonial era commercial understandings, especially the raw material industry, towards a real value addition.
On the back of rules of origin, help promote sector-specific full integrated value chain frameworks by focusing on their proximity to natural resources and comparative advantage to pull in investments.
Provide value added advisory services

Three strategic interventions will be carried out via this platform
